Tweed River Cruise
Great ideas for creating new products for the Tourism Industry in New Caledonia ! Ericka tells us about a very pleasant technical visit !!!
When we arrived on board, the crew offered us tea and coffee and a piece of cake. At first six volunteers had a go at crab fishing, then we fed pelicans with fish.
Secondly, we tried prawn fishing, they were very small prawns, for that we used a pump and a sort of sieve to separate the prawns from the sand. Then we used fishing rods and while doing that there was a hail storm.
Only three students out of the whole class, managed to catch some fish : Nancy, Vanessa and Kevin. Nancy and Kevin caught only one fish each and Vanessa caught five !! And though, for Nancy it was the first time ! We gave the fish to the pelicans who were watching us the whole time.
When we came back to the harbor we enjoyed a snack made of crabs and bread with different sauces. This activity was very good because it was interesting and lively. This gave us lots of ideas to develop the same kind of product in New-Caledonia.
